David Cameron to 'ride out' Ashcroft claims as social media goes crazy over #piggate

David Cameron is likely to ‘ride out’ new allegations about his activities as a young man, including the shocking claim that he once “put a private part of his anatomy” in a dead pig’s mouth. The allegations are contained in a new biography from former Conservative Party treasurer Lord Ashcroft, which is being serialised in the Daily Mail.

Jonathan Hemus suggests that the allegations, despite their sordid nature, will have little lasting impact on Cameron’s reputation.
